Federal ROAD to Housing Act Gets Even Better
Near the finish line: After ten long months of back-and-forth between the House and the Senate, the biggest federal housing bill in decades is close to becoming law. On Tuesday, the ROAD to Housing Act’s lead sponsors in the House and Senate released an encouraging joint statement on the bill’s final prospects. Sen. Scott said on CNBC that he expects the bill to pass in 2-3 weeks.
This bill is big: Pesky provisions that restricted build-to-rent housing were removed from the most recent version of the bill. Surprisingly, some great policies that the House stripped from the ROAD Act have made their way back in!
